I got a phone call early one morning from Roberta Flack and, of course, thought it was a joke and hung up on her.
Fortunately for me her music director, Leon Pendarvis, called back and assured me it was serious.
Two days later we were on the road.
The epitome of first class in every way. A gracious lady and a superb musician.
