Try as I might, I can't find a current picture of Obie.
(This one is circa 1955—you do the math) Obie had a major hit as an R&B singer with his song "Mary Lou". He subsequently went on to establish himself as a great jazz singer. We hooked up in L.A. in the late 70's and have been friends ever since.
